No rift with deputy, says Hassan CMC president

Staff Correspondent HASSAN: President of the Hassan City Municipal Council Ratnamma Mahantesh has through a press release here on Sunday clarified that there is no difference of opinion between her and vice-president Shankar. Reports carried in some newspapers that she would be removed soon were baseless, she added. Ms. Mahantesh said she assumed office as president seven months ago after which the CMC had had three Commissioners. Before each of them could settle down, they were transferred. In addition to this, Hassan city received heavy rainfall in the past four months, which had prevented the administration from undertaking any new projects.
