WASHINGTON (AFP) - The plight of the developing countries is being forgotten as the financial crisis in the industrialized world spreads, leaving them even more vulnerable to its effects, Sierra Leone said Sunday. The problems of the poor countries have been "largely forgotten," Sierra Leone Finance Minister David Carew told a news conference at the annual International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings in Washington. As the crisis dampens economic growth, "we expect to see a reduction of inflows to Africa and that is of concern to us," Carew said, citing likely falls in remittances, foreign exchange reserves and foreign investment.
