HARRISONBURG - An illegal immigrant was arrested Wednesday in Harrisonburg for possession of more than a half pound of methamphetamine with a value of $6,000, according to an announcement Friday by the RUSH Drug Task Force. According to the task force, the arrest of Rigoberto Celestino-Velasco, 28, 641 Blue Ridge Drive, Harrisonburg, followed a three-month investigation. The arrest developed around 1 p.m. Wednesday after a Harrisonburg police K-9 patrol officer stopped Celestino-Velasco, a Mexican native, while he was driving on Commerce Street. During the stop, police say, a small amount of methamphetamine was seized. Police charged Celestino-Velasco with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
