11 Oct 2008, 0322 hrs IST, Bhaskar Roy,TNN NEW DELHI: Served a tough legal notice by Congress, 'Newsweek' magazine has promptly apologized to party chief Sonia Gandhi and admitted it had no basis in terming her "an Italian born former waitress". In its latest issue, the US publication also regretted having said that what had stopped Sonia pursuing the prime ministership in 2004 was a 'nudge' from then President A P J Abdul Kalam. In its September 22 issue, the magazine ran a story on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh: "How Singh blew India's moment".
