Huge arms haul in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the day and age of terrorism, it's a miracle that a veritable arsenal — 59 revolvers and 2,000 rounds of ammunition — appears to have been checked in at Dubai, undetected by both security and Emirates airlines, into a Karipur-bound flight. The haul was detected by air customs staff on Wednesday night at the Karipur international airport in Malappuram, northern Kerala. The two passengers — Kalaskar Rafeeq Ahamed from Mumbai and Shahid Ali Mohammed Salim from Ratnagiri — were arrested.
