News Minute: Wild day caps worst week...Oil prices dip...Obama maintains lead

Associated Press - October 10, 2008 5:53 PM ET NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks have finished the week with a wild day of trading that saw the Dow drop below 8,000 at one point. It finished the day down 128 points to close at 8,451. For the week, the Dow lost nearly 1,900 points, or more than 18%. NEW YORK (AP) - Oil prices have taken another steep drop. Light, sweet crude for November delivery dropped nearly $9, ending the day at $77.70 a barrel. AAA says gas prices dropped more than 5 cents overnight.
