Cash boost for water sports

Dubai: Water sports in the UAE have received a massive boost with His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordering a 100 per cent increase in its annual budget. Following the decree, which was announced yesterday by General Mussabah Rashid Al Fattan, Dir-ector of Shaikh Mohammad's Office, water sports will receive Dh90 million for the 2009 season. Al Fattan said this major increase in the club's budget is an incentive for backing the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) and to enable it to fulfil its role in the local and international arenas.
