Kharge calls for session to discuss law and order

GULBARGA: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly M. Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday demanded that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa convene the session of the Legislative Assembly immediately to discuss the “deteriorating law and order situation and unabated attack on churches and Christian prayer halls in the State”. Mr. Kharge told presspersons that the Assembly session was due to be held in November, but this should be advanced to discuss several issues including the attacks on minorities. To a question, Mr. Kharge said the question of having an alliance or seat-sharing arrangement in the ensuing byelections with like-minded political parties including Janata Dal (Secular) should be decided by the party high command.
