LONDON (AP) -- Chelsea filed suit in the High Court on Friday to recover the US$16-million-pound (US$27.2 million; euro20 million) transfer fee it paid Norwegian club Lyn Oslo for midfielder Jon Obi Mikel. The London club took the action following the fraud conviction in Norway of Lyn's former chief executive officer, Morgan Andersen. "It is now clear following Andersen's conviction that the transfer was based on the fraudulent misrepresentation that Mikel had an employment contract with Lyn," Chelsea said in a statement. Mikel moved to Chelsea in June 2006 after Manchester United initially tried to buy the Nigerian international. At the time, Mikel and his lawyers said the contract he had apparently signed with United had been forged and he wanted to move to Chelsea.
