BY KEYONNA SUMMERS • FLORIDA TODAY • October 10, 2008 VIERA — Jurors heard opening statements today in the trial of a Merritt Island man accused of holding a 23-year-old Brevard County woman hostage for seven hours during a domestic disturbance. Christopher Barnes, 47, is charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault while discharging a firearm, shooting or throwing a deadly missile into a dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the Oct. 18, 2007, incident.
