England captain Terry out of Kazakhstan match

ST. ALBANS, England (AP) -- With John Terry out with a back injury, Rio Ferdinand will captain England at Wembley in Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan. "Being captain in any game is great, but leading out England in the first World Cup qualifier at Wembley is very special," Ferdinand said Friday. "I'm very much looking forward to it, and I'll cherish this moment. The biggest thing will be walking out at Wembley. It's a fantastic new stadium and the home of our national team." Terry was favored over Ferdinand for the captaincy in August after Capello tried out different players in his first four matches in charge.
