We, as human beings, have a tendency to see the world around us outwardly, rather than inwardly. When it comes to religion, we tend to see it in terms of its outward forms: Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and others. In this way, we fail to understand that our inner reality is something far greater. A human being is, in its essence, a soul; without a body, without a language or nation, without a religion-without any kind of definition. It is a soul that is expressed temporarily in a form, but that same soul has been in many other forms. That one inner reality cannot be called Hindu or Christian, male or female, American or Indian.
