NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Stocks staged a stunning comeback late Friday, with the Dow erasing the 600 point decline it suffered in the afternoon amid the global credit market crisis. Credit markets remained tight, although short-term lending showed some improvement from recent days. Treasury prices fell, raising the corresponding yields.
