Urban Ministries of Durham leader, Schmeidler, resigns By Jim Wise, Staff Writer Comment on this story DURHAM -- Lloyd Schmeidler has stepped down as executive director of Urban Ministries of Durham. "All I can say is, I resigned," he said. His last day in the office was Oct. 3. "He's done a really good job," said Sue Guptill, treasurer of Urban Ministries' board. "He was just kind of ready to move forward in his career."
