Brokers foresee little impact on office market (at bizjournals.com)

Charlotte Business Journal - by “It’s certainly positive, much more positive than the alternative,” says Peter Conway, a partner at Charlotte commercial real estate firm Trinity Partners. “The doomsday scenario has dissipated. Now it’s a matter of quantifying the impact in terms of how many jobs.” Trinity is developing an office tower at 440 S. Church St. — near the new Wachovia tower under construction — with Atlanta-based Novare Group. Several other local brokers echoed Conway’s sentiments during the past week as speculation swirled over who would win Wachovia. The Wells deal hasn’t closed, so the ultimate fate of Wachovia (NYSE:WB) is not yet settled.
