Amtrak sets another ridership record

By RAJU CHEBIUM Gannett News Service • October 10, 2008 WASHINGTON - Amtrak says it set another ridership record. The passenger railroad said today passengers bought 28.7 million tickets in the 2008 fiscal year, which began Oct. 1, 2007, and ended on Sept. 30 of this year. That total beat the previous high of 25.8 million tickets sold in fiscal year 2007.
