Pac-10 woes connected to the QB slide

West Coast Bias: A wave of quarterback injuries has taken its toll on the conference. By Monday, the quarterback situation in the Palouse was so grim that Washington State coach Paul Wulff held a special scout team QB tryout open to all WSU students. Twenty-nine students showed up for the work-out, believed to be the first ever midseason QB tryout at a BCS conference school, with Wulff and his staff eventually settling on Peter Roberts, a freshman who led Woodinville High, outside Seattle, to the Washington state final last fall.
