By Stephen Schaefer Friday, October 10, 2008 - Added 7m ago Well, here’s a conversation you don’t have every day: Oscar winner Russell Crowe, who stars in Ridley Scott’s “Body of Lies,” recalls the director’s pitch: “The first thing that I got was a phone call from Ridley saying, ‘How would you like to put on a large amount of weight?’ ” Crowe grinned during an interview at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in L.A. “That always appeals to me. That sounded like a sell right there. One of the other things he said was that he wanted the character to feel like an ex-football player with bad knees who still has a grace about him. So that was also interesting.” His character is a Washington, D.C.-based CIA agent who basically talks on his cell phone through the entire movie.
