Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oct. 9--A messy new dispute has emerged between Eugene's police union and the city police auditor's office. An attorney representing the Eugene Police Employees' Association last week warned interim city Police Auditor Dawn Reynolds to stay away from internal affairs investigators until after they have completed gathering evidence in officer misconduct cases. If Reynolds continues to participate in open investigations, the union will file a formal grievance against the city, Portland attorney Rhonda Fenrich said in her Oct. 3 letter to Reynolds. For now, Reynolds is standing her ground. She said she'll continue to keep tabs on open investigations unless the City Council or a city attorney directs her to do otherwise.
