Published 10/10/2008 By Lane Blevins I think I could watch Simon Pegg ride a merry-go-round on film for 90 minutes and still laugh until my ribs hurt. The guy just makes me laugh. But, I promise, I won’t gush. Pegg, who came on the American film scene with “Shaun of the Dead,” turns in another stellar performance as the brazen and faux-pas prone Sidney Young in “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People,” an industry comedy about the unscrupulous people of the New York City magazine scene. The film, based on the book of same title, chronicles the somewhat true story of British journalist Toby Young. Young wrote “How To Lose Friends…” after taking a job with Vanity Fair magazine for a six-month stint in an unsuccessful effort to “shake things up.” This movie made me laugh. A LOT.
