ANC to tackle corruption - Phosa

Michael Hamlyn Cape Town - Trying to answer the fears and concerns of the white Afrikaner community about the change of leadership in the ANC and government, Matthews Phosa on Thursday evening said that the party was intent on tackling corruption - in particular local government corruption. Phosa, the treasurer general of the party, suggested that no councillor should ever be a member of a procurement committee. "We want to introduce independent agencies to deal with procurement at local government level," he said "That will go a long way towards undermining corruption at that level."
