U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings, others to speak at water forum today

A half-day forum on the challenges of protecting the Columbia-Snake river system is planned this morning in Kennewick. Northwest RiverPartners, a coalition of utilities, businesses and other organizations, is sponsoring the free forum at the Three Rivers Convention Center from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Some of the speakers include U.S. Reps. Doc Hastings, R-Wash., and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash.; Anita Decker, chief operating officer for the Bonneville Power Administration; and from the Army Corps of Engineers, Col. Miroslav Kurka, deputy commander, and Witt Anderson, director of programs. Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire will also be addressing the group by video.
