Good to hear Maverick Johnson is back on the air with 106.5 WCTQ. A mainstay for 16 years until his contract expired at the end of 2006, Mav is back with the country music station from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. This is with the blessing of the American Cancer Society for whom Mav remains Manatee County's executive director. "I've always had a passion for radio, but I'm devoted to the society's mission, too," he said. WCTQ's new general manager Pete Norden and program director Sammy Cruise brought him back on board last Monday.
