TELEVISION and the internet will collide as part of network Seven's new push to get Australians to adopt its TiVo digital video recorder. The network will roll out new internet-based features for TiVo from next month including a movie on demand service, access to YouTube videos and the ability to download TiVo content to other devices like iPods. However, Seven is unlikely to drop the price of the $699 device. TiVo, which has been available in the US for the past decade, was launched in Australia in July and is the free-to-air rival of pay television network Foxtel's iQ recorder. TiVo allows users to "control" how they watch television by recording programs to a hard drive using a broadband internet connection.
