Paramedics: Suspect in Canada Police Shooting Showed Remorse

Posted: Friday, October 10, 2008 WINNIPEG - Daniell Anderson cried and repeatedly asked about the police officers he allegedly shot during a chaotic raid at his home, said paramedics who transported the injured suspect to hospital. ''He was crying, he was apologizing, he was remorseful for what he did,'' paramedic Gord MacInnes told court Thursday. ''He was saying he didn't know that it was the police.'' Anderson is on trial for allegedly shooting constables Curtis Penner and Don Murray as they executed a drug search warrant at the home he shared with his parents on Dec. 7, 2006. A third officer, Const. Jeremy Cull, was injured by a police ricochet. Anderson allegedly shot at the officers while barricaded in a bathroom.
