Barcelona fan Pablo eyeing Madrid victory

Published Date: 10 October 2008 EUROPEAN Tour rookie Pablo Larrazabal admits he is still pinching himself after a dream summer, which could improve even further with victory at the Madrid Masters this week. The 25-year-old Spaniard shot an opening round three-under-par 68 to be one shot off a lead held by Magnus Carlsson and Paul Broadhurst, and is an early contender for his second Tour win of the season. In June, Larrazabal held off the challenges o f seasoned professionals Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie to clinch the French Open, which gave him exemption to The Open and the PGA Championship. And the form which won him the title in Paris was evident at Madrid's Club de Campo yesterday, where he shot four birdies and an eagle to be joint second.
