The toasted Turner Prize comes to Cardiff

Oct 10 2008 by Gavin O'Connor, South Wales Echo IT’S the great pyramid of toast! The latest entry in the Echo’s Toasted Turner prize wouldn’t look out of place in Egypt – or on the breakfast table. This mighty construction is the work of Simeon Rabaiotti, of Rabaiotti's Restaurant & Snack Bar Penarth. To make his spectacular Giza-inspired creation, Simeon piled up 26 pieces of wholemeal Melba toast, and painstakingly built them into a peak, before garnishing the display with an ornately carved tomato. And for dessert? Look no further than his spectacular depiction of a coffee break – all through the medium of toast, of course.
