Kartik Agro Industries plans to set up a 65 kiloliters/day ethanol plant at Huligeri in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, a company official said Friday. "The distillery will produce 65 kl/d ethanol of industrial, potable and fuel grade. Molasses will be the main raw material for the manufacture of ethanol. Requirement of molasses will be 280 mt/day," Kartik Agro Industries said in a proposal submitted to the federal environment and forests ministry for environmental clearance. The plant will be designed to process both molasses and grains for manufacturing ethanol.
