Democratic Gathering MP Antoine Andraous told NOW Lebanon that Syria was the main party responsible for difficulties in achieving Christian reconciliation and for the problems between the Lebanese Forces and Marada Movement in particular. Andraous said that Syria has urged Marada Movement leader Sleiman Franjieh to halt reconciliation efforts and said that the Free Patriotic Movement and Hezbollah were also obstructing the reconciliation. He called on Christian leaders to be wise and to stop attempts to create sedition among them and praised President Michel Sleiman’s efforts to forge reconciliation with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir’s blessing.
