Brunsman • bbrunsman@enquirer.com • October 10, 2008 Drug sweep includes manslaughter charges BATAVIA - A roundup of dozens of people charged with trafficking in or abusing heroin or other opiates began before dawn Thursday in Clermont County. The sweep involved the largest number of people ever charged there as the result of a single investigation, Sheriff A.J. "Tim" Rodenberg said. Nine police agencies participated in Operation Opiate Blocker, whose targets included residents of adjoining Hamilton and Brown counties. Indictments for 47 of those people were handed up by a grand jury Wednesday. Fourteen others were either indicted earlier or charged Wednesday in Clermont Municipal Court.
