Versus heats up some Sports Soup: new show to mix sports, pop culture, comedy E! Soup-style

Dave Darling | WEEKEND WATCHDOG It may never work as well as grandma's chicken soup, but Versus might have the next-best thing for ailing sports junkies in need of a good laugh. Sports Soup, a half-hour show hosted by comedian Matt Iseman, debuts at 10 p.m. Tuesday. The show, modeled after E!'s The Soup, will be a fast-paced mix of sports, pop culture and comedy -- all in the traditional "Soup" monologue format. "Sports Soup will offer viewers an undistorted glimpse into sports," said Marc Fein, executive vice president of business operations for Versus. "It's our way of providing a voice to sports fans, as the show will say what we are all thinking but no one is actually saying, until now."
