By WILLIAM H. SOKOLIC • Courier-Post Staff • October 10, 2008 Before "The Cat in the Hat" and "Green Eggs and Ham," Dr. Seuss carved out a career as a political cartoonist. To honor those days -- and the social commentary of his more famous children's tomes -- Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor will present an exhibit of the Seuss social and political canon timed for the presidential election. The artwork of Theodor Seuss Geisel runs through Election Day, Nov. 4. The gallery will feature more than 50 pieces of art from the Art of Dr. Seuss collection. Featuring imagery from politically charged artworks, books and editorial cartoons, the "Dr. Seuss for President" art exhibition offers a glimpse into a different aspect of the imagination of Ted Geisel.
