Don't let the orange barrels spoil this beautiful autumn weekend BY MATT HELMS • FREE PRESS COLUMNIST • October 10, 2008 The weather forecast calls for one of those pitch-perfect, mostly sunny, fall Michigan weekends with temperatures in the mid-70s, and folks who plan ahead for road detours won't have to let orange barrels ruin the enjoyment. Everyone's favorite out-of-commission freeway leads the pack of delay-makers. Both directions of I-75 will close between the Davison Freeway and I-94 in Detroit from 8 tonight to 5 a.m. Monday for ongoing bridge repairs along the freeway. The northbound detour will take westbound I-94 to the northbound Lodge Freeway, and then the eastbound Davison back to I-75.
