The musical feat will be a first, with the Scots singer kick-starting Edinburgh's final gig of 2008 in West Princes Street Gardens, before hot-footing it to perform before a home crowd in Glasgow city centre. Two years ago Scottish trio The Fratellis were due to rock both bashes before gale force winds forced the cancellation of the New Year celebrations in both cities. But this year Paolo will have to make a mad dash along the M8 motorway to play both gigs.
