Walter Smith: Rangers must find a nasty streak

Oct 10 2008 By Gary Ralston RANGERS boss Walter Smith admits it's time for his Ibrox nice guys to develop a nasty streak. Smith would like to see an ugly side to his team after one shareholder complained about rough-house tactics against his favourites. The fan singled out St Johnstone after Steven Naismith and Chris Burke suffered long-term-injuries in last season's Scottish Cup semi-final. He was also unhappy at the treatment dished out to Pedro Mendes and Kenny Miller in the recent game against Motherwell at Ibrox. Smith admitted the Old Firm get it physically tougher than other sides in the SPL. But he called on his players to start getting their retaliation in first.
