Two of the most important singer-songwriters in Spanish-language music will visit the San Diego-Tijuana region. Julieta Venegas, performing Sunday at Spreckels Theatre in San Diego, and Joan Manuel Serrat, who'll be at the Centro Cultural Tijuana on Wednesday and Thursday represent two generations of singer-songwriters in Latin music. Venegas is on her “El Presente Tour”, in which she performs acoustic versions of her greatest hits, such as “Lento” and “Andar conmigo.” The concerts are almost identical to her “MTV Unplugged” album released this year. The single “El presente,” included in that CD, is nominated as best song of the year and ringtone of the year for the MTV Awards Latin America, which airs on Oct. 16.
