SEMINOLE COUNTY -- Central Florida took a pounding with severe storms Thursday. Many areas who were drying out from Tropical Storm Fay were hit hard again. In Sanford, inches of rain fell in a short amount of time, leaving some major roads flooded. The owner of a carwash at French Avenue and 24th Street said it took just 15 minutes before the whole lot was flooded. Others nearby said their backyards and streets were just drying out from Fay, and are now back underwater again. The good news is the water in most spots did recede by the end of the night.
