Couple suspects in baby formula thefts

Kimble jkimble@eagletribune.com SALEM — A Lawrence, Mass., couple, who allegedly stole two duffel bags of baby formula, led police on a brief chase over the state line yesterday morning before striking a curb. Samuel Morales, 34, and Wanda Lebron, 47, face numerous charges stemming from the alleged theft from Babies 'R' Us on Route 28 in Salem. Morales and Lebron were arrested in front of the Arlington Club in Lawrence sometime after 9:45 a.m. Lawrence police took them into custody with their guns drawn. After Morales' Toyota Camry struck a curb, he shifted his car into gear, revving the engine when police ordered him and Lebron out of the car, police said.
