West needs Olympian-type effort tonight

Pocono Mountain West is finally playing football like it did last year. But the Panthers have an obstacle this week they've never overcome — Jim Thorpe. The Olympians (4-2) and Panthers (3-3) each head into tonight's game at Pocono Mountain School District Stadium riding two-game winning streaks. Pocono West has never defeated Jim Thorpe, and during last year's Mountain Valley Conference title run, the Panthers were trounced 35-7 by the Olympians. There is plenty on the line tonight besides pride. The winner of tonight's game takes a big step toward a postseason berth.
