Red Bulls-Real Salt Lake Preview

Salt Lake tries to take another step toward reaching the postseason while handing the visiting Red Bulls their first four-game skid in nine years on Thursday night in the inaugural match at Rio Tinto Stadium. Though it has never made the playoffs, Salt Lake (9-10-8) currently sits third in the Western Conference, trailing second-place Chivas USA by four points and owning a one-point advantage over Colorado and FC Dallas The team has strengthened its postseason chances with some unexpected road success, winning in San Jose on Sept. 27 and playing to a 2-2 tie at New England on Saturday.
