Dickinson lineman a quick learner

By Corey Roepken The Daily News Published October 10, 2008 DICKINSON — The first time Ivory Wade stepped onto the Dickinson High School football field, his coach could tell the sophomore didn’t know much about the game. That did not keep Warren Trahan from figuring out immediately that Wade would be one of the best linemen he has coached. Wade had just moved from Orlando, Fla., where he had limited football background. He didn’t have the right kind of technique, and he didn’t have the right kind of strength. He played on the junior varsity team during the non-district schedule then made the jump to varsity when the district games began. He went on to earn All-District honors as a defensive lineman.
