Restaurant operator in civil contempt for failing to pay back wages

A Mexican restaurant operator in the Kansas City area is in civil contempt of court for failing to pay back wages as ordered in 2003 and 2005. Manuel Jaime, co-owner of El Maguey Mexican Restaurants, was found by the U.S. District Court in Kansas City to owe more than $75,000 in unpaid minimum wage and overtime compensation to workers. El Maguey restaurants operate in Independence, Raymore, Raytown and Lee’s Summit.
