08:26 PM EDT on Thursday, October 9, 2008 By MARIO ROLDAN / NewsChannel 36 Neighbors push for changes at deadly crash site LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Neighbors living along the scene where a young mother crashed and died Tuesday night have started a petition in hopes of safety improvements. Chasity Spivey, 23, of Maiden was trapped when her Jeep overturned in a pond on Gladden Drive near Spring East Road in Lincoln County. Spivey’s children, 4-year-old Taylor Peyton and 2-year-old John Peyton II, were also submerged in the pond, unconscious and dying. A passerby and firefighters were able to save the children. "Let's make sure there's no other kids grow up without a mama," said neighbor Greg Smith. "The other night was the last straw for us neighbors out here."
