City event hot ticket item

THE Brisbane International has sent down an ace at the ticket box, with almost 8000 tickets being snapped up on the first day of sales for January's return of tour tennis. Tickets for the women's and men's finals sessions, to be played at the new 5500-seat centre court, expected to be named after Pat Rafter, were bought heavily Thursday. Tournament organisers will decide in the next few days whether to release more finals tickets for sale in a package which offered a discount. In the first 20 minutes of sale, 2500 tickets were shifted for the first world tour event in Brisbane for 15 years.
