Judges’ restoration demanded

Friday, October 10, 2008 by Our correspondent Rawalpindi Lawyers affiliated with the District Bar Association here on Thursday staged a protest rally and demanded reinstatement of all deposed judges, including Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. They boycotted court proceedings and raised anti-government slogans at the Kutchery Chowk. Traffic remained blocked for half an hour on the road. Hundreds of protesters came out from the District Courts and assembled at the Kutchery Chowk. They demanded reinstatement of all deposed judges, including Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on the November 3 position. The protesters vowed that they would continue their struggle till the reinstatement of all deposed judges. A heavy contingent of police was present on the occasion.
