MAIL COMMENT: Don't forget the Town Hall twits, Gordon

After the tragic cataclysms of the past few days: the comic relief. Last night, Britain declared diplomatic war on a nation the size of Coventry. Iceland's refusal to compensate those who have lost millions in its stricken banks - collapsed by the credit crunch - was 'effectively illegal' and 'completely unacceptable', the Prime Minister said. Except it is not funny, and Gordon Brown - who, it must be said, has exuded authority and gravitas over an immensely difficult past two days - has every reason to be angry at how British investors have been treated.
