Dish pays TiVo $105M for DVR patent infringement

ALVISO, Calif. - TiVo Inc., a pioneer in digital video recorders, said Thursday it received $105 million in damages from Dish Network Corp. for violating a patent. The payment, made Wednesday, followed the U.S. Supreme Court's refusal Monday to disturb a lower court ruling in TiVo's favor. The initial award was for $74 million, and the remainder is for supplemental damages and interest, according to TiVo.
