WASHINGTON - Shipments carried by U.S. railroads rose slightly last week, a major industry trade group reported Thursday, after falling for more than a month due to weather-related disruptions. The Association of American Railroads said total freight volume carried on the tracks for the week ending Oct. 4 rose 0.8 percent compared with the same week last year.
