Acquisition strengthens Swedish power utility's UK presence and furthers its 50 TWh by 2030 wind power goal. Vattenfall AB, Europe’s fifth-largest electricity generator, bought 100 percent of UK commercial wind farm developer Amec Wind Energy for £126.6 million ($218 million USD) in cash. The projects in Amec’s wind development portfolio in the UK could produce as much as 2 terawatts per hour, providing power to 400,000 households. "This deal provides an excellent opportunity to expand our business in the UK by strengthening our local presence and leveraging our considerable experience in wind power," Lars G.
