Unfabulous

Variety reports that Fox is working on an Americanized version of the classically British show Absolutely Fabulous. The show centered on Edina (the incomparable Jennifer Saunders) and BFF Patsy (Joanna Lumley) as two lushes desperately clinging to any vestige of youth. The plan is to transplant the girls from ’90s London to modern LA, while retaining characters like Edina’s stick-up-her-ass daughter Saffy. Here’s the good news: The original was awesome, so Fox has a good template to work with. Plus, Saunders and Arrested Development’s Mitch Hurwitz are on-board. So at least there’s that.
